Space 1999 was premiered on the 1st of October 1975 and lasted on the 1st of May 1977. It runs for two (2) seasons with forty-eight (48) episodes. It tackles the exploits of the crew of the Moonbase Alpha.
Moonbase Alpha was built on 1999 as a research center and an early warning station in case of alien attack. The crew was headed by Americans Commander John Koening and Doctor Helena Russell. On the same time, Earth decided to shipped all its nuclear waste to the Moon. Unfortunately, on the 13th of September a deep space probe was to be launched and a chain reaction happened that causes the waste to explode. The crew out in the galaxy now fighting for survival as they were unable to return to Earth.
