Dragnet DVD
Dragnet 1967-1970 was the second run of the Dragnet series. It began in January of 1967, and ran to September of 1970. The lead character, Sgt. Joe Friday, was played by Jack Webb, who also directed and produced the series. The show's focus is on two detectives, Sgt. Joe Friday, and Officer Bill Gannon, played by Harry Morgan.
The two track down criminals all throughout the city of Los Angeles, CA. Ben Alexander, the footsore detective in the original "Dragnet" television series in the 1950s, and the uniformed officer in the later series, "Felony Squad," was found dead Saturday at his Los Angeles home. He was 58. A mammoth underworld sweep was under way today, its target 46 mobsters indicted for refusal to testify before a crime-probing Brooklyn grand jury. Among them were several who have been listed as top Cosa Nostra leaders.
